Talking News Islington

As 'In Touch Islington' was no longer functioning in 2007, thus leaving a big gap in services to the Visually-impaired and Blind in London Borough of Islington, a group of Volunteers have got together to produce 'Talking News Islington' on tape and disc.

We are entirely independent and non-profit making and the service is entirely free to all Listeners. At the moment there are over 100 registered Blind or Visually-Impaired people in the borough.

We aim to provide local news and important information to the visually-impaired and those with a print disability. Such news are not available through TV or radio channels, currently local media are not able to re-produce printed versions of newspapers and magazines in audio format.

If you would like to support our work you can become a volunteer as well. It is a rewarding and motivating experience, you will get to meet many like-minded people and will know that your work is really making a difference to people's life. We also accept donations to support our work.
